What a wonderful weekend we just had! Town was bustling Saturday and Sunday with the Doylestown Arts Festival. It’s always nice to see some familiar faces along with new ones of the creative artists who display their one-of-a-kind wares. Sunday’s weather cooperated nicely, giving bicyclists relief just in time for their races in the Thompson Criterion.
We’re still in summer fun mode – especially as we anticipate the upcoming weekend. And the weather’s supposed to be in the 80s with low humidity – perfect weather for what is planned! Heard about PARK(ing) Day? It’s a pop-up park that will be erected in the Starbucks’ parking lot at State and Main streets. Volunteers truck in trees, flowers, tables and chairs for sitting, and create a temporary nook of greenery as a makeshift town square. Last year’s inaugural one was around the County Theater area and was a HUGE success! This year, it’s expanded in both area as well as hours. It will open at noon Friday and go through Sunday. Come hear music, listen to a historical interpreter channeling Martha Mercer, and bring the kids to story time. We hear there may be a popular Little Free Library set up as well. Regardless, if you’re downtown, just go for a stroll and enjoy the atmosphere.
